ADVANCED BINDERY / LIBRARY EXCHANGE
Kater-Crafts is proud to announce the implementation of the Advanced Bindery/Library Exchange (ABLE™) 6.5 system. ABLE links libraries' binding databases with the binders', facilitating the exchange of information and automating many of the activities associated with library binding. ABLE allows the bindery and library to electronically exchange the information needed to complete your bindery order using Internet technology. Using ABLE eliminates the need for the multipart binding slips, manual preparation of the stamping information, and reduces the amount of time required for us to process a shipment. It also provides the library with a history of the number of times a title has been bound and how it was bound.
At the bindery ABLE 6.5 allows us to process your shipment more efficiently. It allows us to eliminate some time consuming processes that were labor intensive. Because you prepare the shipment by entering variable information such as volume and year in a format our bindery system recognizes we no longer need to repeat the entry process at the bindery. In addition, the library now has total control of the information that is to be stamped on the spine and is primarily responsible for its accuracy.
